UNBEATEN PATHS

"Unbeaten Paths" is the Saskatchewan Christian Feminist Network (SCFN) newsletter that goes to subscribers three times a year (winter, spring and fall.) "The Unbeaten Paths" is a compilation of articles from a variety of periodicals, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, and SCFN writers. Click here to read the latest editorial.

PURPOSE

• to act as a consciousness-raiser about issues of concern to women, especially women of faith
• to share articles focussing on feminist theology/spirituality
• to distribute information about our global sisters and their concerns and issues
• to build community among SCFN members by providing a common base of shared readings, and a place to share information, interests and stories.

 

TOPICS

Each mailing contains about fifty pages.

• The "Close to Home" section which features people and issues from SCFN and Saskatchewan.
• "Women Working for Change" highlights individuals and groups and their activities, sometimes with a call to personal or community action.
• Both "Feminist Theology" and "Feminist Thought" offer new ideas or new ways of thinking about faith and practice.
• "Global Concerns" connects us with women all around the world. From time to time the categories may change or a recurring theme may lead to the formation of a special section in a particular issue.

 

EDITORIAL TEAM

The current editorial team is Meredith Cherland, Marja Hardorn, and Jayne Whyte. Together, we choose the material, and each take responsibility for part of the cut and paste. After the package comes from the photocopier, Saskatchewan Conference office mails copies to subscribers

Money is a continuous source of frustration and anxiety in women's groups and in women's lives. In the ebb and flow of our lives, we experience times of abundance, and times of need. If you are in the midst of an abundant time, we welcome your financial contribution for the Network and/ or the Unbeaten Paths Newsletter -- for yourself and/ or other women. If you are in a time of need, we strongly encourage you to ask for what you want. As a feminist group, we are concerned that a lack of money not deter any woman from belonging/being connected/receiving information.
